7) Eating is only permitted while sitting in Sunnyside Café or outdoors
Yes, you may bring food from home, but for safety sake, please do NOT bring foods with nut ingredients. Water bottles, breastfeeding, and bottle feeding are encouraged everywhere. All other eating and drinking is ONLY permitted in Sunnyside Snacks Café and Peek-a-Boo Playground. Children’s hands should be washed before and after eating.
Our play space is intentionally designed for young children who are neurodivergent and typically developing. The materials and activities we've curated are developmentally appropriate for children whose chronological age, or developmentally adjusted age, is 3 months to 6 years old. We have wheelchair ramps from the parking lot to our main entrance and from inside the building to Peek-a-Boo Playground.
The Playpark is a small venue, guaranteed to never be crowded. If your child is easily overstimulated, ask our staff about the least busy times of the day and use that info to plan your visits.
Yes! Ask our staff to show you resources for ages and stages of children’s skill progression to help you consider whether or not your child seems developmentally on track. We can help you connect with local organizations that provide free support to assess whether your child could benefit from any supportive therapy.
We also offer a paid service where one of our preschool directors can complete a play-based learning assessment with children ages 2.5 – 5 years old. The results can provide you with additional insight on your child's motor, cognitive, and language development.
Toys that children put in their mouth are immediately taken out of the play area so they can be sanitized before further use. All toys and touch contact surfaces throughout the Playpark are spray sanitized with a 200 PPM chlorine solution at least twice a day (during our mid-afternoon closure, at the end of the day, and after each party.) After the chlorine solution dries, there is no harmful residue left behind. The Playpark is deep cleaned every Tuesday.
